In both tournaments he has participated in, Earl Holbrook has finished second from bottom. His form marginally improved in the Fifteenth Tournament, in which he scored the same number of points, but from fewer games than the Fourteenth Championship. Officially he has the worst knockout rating of any tournament member, having been eliminated in his first game, by Division Two opposition, on two occasions. Earl Holbrook looked on course to cause a shock when he went 1-0 up against Commander Graham in the final of the Eternal Champions Challenge. It was, however, Commander Graham who went on to contest in the Golden Leaf Super Cup, while Earl Holbrook entered the third-place play-off against Captain Maltby. It was here Earl Holbrook gained his first honour, beating his Division One opponent 2-0.
