THIRTEENTH TOURNAMENT REVIEW | |
And so, the curtain has fallen upon Mega Drive Championshipary. Just over four-years ago three men established a competition to find out which of them was best on three games: Golden Axe 2, Sonic 2 and World Cup Italia '90. This evening that legacy was ended. The Thirteenth Mega Drive Championship hosted the smallest amount of fixtures since the First Tournament and, although it felt like it ended too soon, it was the most enjoyable and passionate Mega Drive romp to date. After nearly four-years absence, Captain Maltby returned to the tournaments and ended up in last place, scoring no points. Lord Dilks won the Thirteenth Tournament following a controversal game, against Mr Smith, on Road Rash 2. Baron Von Hooton finished third after thrashing Doc Shakib, 6-0, on World Cup Italia '90. It was just like the old times when the Mega Drive Championships were fun and at times like this the results are not important. When asked to sum up the Mega Drive tournaments, Baron Von Hooton said it best in quoting Pete Sampras Tennis; "absolutely brilliant". |
