Using the Swiss method, member ranking is determined following seven head-to-head games. The twenty-two members were randomly split into eleven pairs. Following the first game the twenty-two members were split again to face players with a similar performance. This continued until every member had played all of the seven games. Ranking is then decided based firstly upon the win-lose ratio, with the quality of opposition used as the second determining criteria. The eight highest-ranking members qualified to the next stage. Fátima Campos was the biggest name to be eliminated at this stage. She had successfully reached the semi-finals of the first two tournaments, but was unable to even secure a place in Stage Two on this occassion. |

The eight qualifying members were then split into two groups. Each game was played in a mini-knockout style with two players going head-to-head with the winners and losers paired off in a final game to determine ranking. Five points were awarded for finishing in first, three points for second, the person finishing third received two points and nothing was given to the member who finished last. Following the completion of the games the top two members in each group qualified to the final stage of the competition. Jorge Esteves kept the prospect of securing his second successive title with victory in group one, qualifying along with Alberto Campos. In group two David Magueijo and Márcio Costa were the two who managed to book their place in the final four. |

The final was contested on Street Fighter 2: Championship Edition, in which both David Magueijo and Jorge Esteves selected Ken as their character.
