2-PLAYER VS:

The idea of adding European Club Soccer to the tournament is almost as old as the competitions themselves. Nowadays, European Club Soccer clings to the status of being Knockout Only, as it is a poor 2-player game and only nostalgic sentiment prevents it from being completely removed. Although it was originally planned to include European Club Soccer at the Second Tournament, it was not involved until the Ninth Mega Drive Championship when it was added to the Division Two game roster. It was the first and last game to be used in the original Second Division before the competiton collapsed, as well as earning the distingtion of behind the first game to be drawn for the Tournament Knockout final. Former member, Professor Mizutani, is ranked as the best player having two wins and two draws from four games - the only person to have never lost a competitive game of European Club Soccer. Of the current members it is Doc Shakib who is ranked highest. European Club Soccer was going to be re-introduced to Division Two at the Fourteenth Tournament, but after a thorough review it was decided to have this as a Knockout Only and FIFA Road to World Cup '98 in the league.
